Director, Equities

I joined Markit in 2010 after working for a number of big companies. I had accumulated lots of experience working on large accounts and decided I wanted to apply these skills in a fast growing and entrepreneurial company. Markit was the right choice. The business opportunities spring up all the time here and it's up to each and every one to transform them into successful products.

The entrepreneurial spirit is at the heart of the company's values and good ideas get traction quickly which I find very rewarding. There is still a start-up feel despite our now relatively large size, something I had not experienced since the dot-com boom.

Director, Sales

I head up the sales effort for Markit Hub and Markit Research Manager in EMEA and Asia and have been with Markit since August 2011. It's great to be part of a dynamic company, especially as there are a number of exciting initiatives in my product suite. Markit is unique in that it manages to maintain an entrepreneurial culture and spirit despite being a large global organisation.

There is a real sense of ownership across all levels of the company. In terms of my experience, I have been in the financial information space for almost 20 years, beginning my career in media sales. I then moved to the vendor space, where I have since specialised in sellside research aggregation and distribution and have led regional and global teams at a number of vendors.

Associate, Development

My career really kicked off when I joined Markit Amsterdam as a customer support representative in September 2008. Within a year. I had moved to the Feed Integration team as a Java developer. I have been with them since then. I work as part of a very close-knit team. This is my highlight of working here - the amount you learn in such a supportive working environment is phenomenal.

Markit is an innovative and fast-paced company. When I first visited the company, the people I spoke to were all passionate about their work. That and the many opportunities for career progression are the two things that sold the job to me.

Director, Portfolio Valuations

I joined Markit in 2005 straight from university and I am now head of valuations for Markit Portfolio Valuations. I was promoted quickly and got exposure to a lot of different areas of the business including credit, valuations, Totem, and foreign exchange. In September 2006, I moved to New York to set up the portfolio valuations there.

I honestly don't think I could have found a more flexible company and one which would have offered me nearly as many opportunities as Markit has. My application was purely on spec. I wanted a job in finance and someone suggested I applied to Markit

Managing Director, Sales

I joined Markit in 2011 as a managing director in the sales department. My role involves driving regional sales for the firms priority products. I am also responsible for the day-to-day management of many of our most important sellside client relationships. Prior to this I held a senior position in a company focused on the credit markets where I had a seat on the global executive committee.

It was a great role but Markit won me over with its entrepreneurial culture, deep product bench and proven ability to execute. Colleagues are great fun and supportive which is very important given the challenges one faces in today's fast-evolving marketplace.
