| Department Overview |
| Markit DIME provides a suite of products designed to give immediate access to the data required for equity derivative trading. This encompasses indices, dividends and ETPs delivered in one validated and cross-referenced feed. |

| Role Summary |
| A full time position has become available for a competent technical test engineer in our London offices. The position will involve technical test leadership, supporting project delivery in a fast moving and dynamic environment. Responsibilities will be across a programme of projects, and encompass both functional and non-functional, UI and back-end technical testing and quality assurance activities.
The product area (and Markit as a whole) are rapidly expanding in both service provision and geographical coverage. This role involves (initially) enhancement of delivery of ETF services at the forefront of the financial markets, in providing a global service to global customers, across all asset classes.

| Duties and Responsibilities |
|
| The position is reporting to Equities and Indices Test Manager (UK based). A number of additional, more junior resources (globally based) will be available within the team to assist in the low level scripting and execution of technical and automated testing |
|
| As a result, the successful applicant will take full control of the automation of test activities for the Equities and Indices product offering in:
- supporting delivery of various new service provisions within Markit;
- supporting delivery of enhancements to existing services;
- BAU and maintenance support work
|
|
| Including:
- Both tactical and strategic responses to business challenges in terms of supporting delivery through use of automation.
- Test Planning – review of specification and creation of automated test plans, identification of test cases, and specification of test scripts and packs. Project estimation tasks.
- Test Execution – taking the lead in execution of automated testing activity, including upward management reporting and stakeholder liaison.
- Managing expectation of senior stakeholders with respect to Progress, Coverage and Quality of automated test activity
- Taking responsibility for coaching and development of more junior staff.
- Adding to and championing best practice methodology with respect to testing and Quality Assurance within Markit, across the organisation.

|
| Significant experience (3+ years) of dedicated Test Automation activity must be shown, in supporting delivery of technical change in an enterprise context. |
|
| Experience of both functional and non-functional test definition/build/execution/delivery must be shown. |
|
| Experience working in the financial sector would be an advantage, in particular knowledge of dividends, indices and equities products, although is not explicitly required to apply for the role. |
|
| A solid degree in a science discipline from a reputable institution would be highly advantageous. |
|
| Commercial Awareness |
|
| Experience of specification, implementation and use of industry testing tools must be shown (e.g. any of QTP, Loadrunner, Selenium, JMeter etc.). Loadrunner and QTP skills are in line with our global test policy, and although these skills are not specifically required in order to apply for the role, candidates with experience in Loadrunner and/or QTP would be preferred.

| Experience of working closely with Database Technology (specifically SQL Server 2008) would be highly advantageous |
|
| Experience of working with (testing) XML or other large integrated data flows would be highly advantageous. Specifically the testing of MI and other large database/ETL solutions is of relevance to the role. |

| Any previous formal development experience, and sound knowledge of scripting languages would also be highly advantageous. |
