Markit Environmental Registry Wins the FST Awards’ Environmental Initiative of the Year

New York, NY and London - Markit, a leading, global financial information services company, today announced that Markit Environmental Registry has won the “Best Environmental Initiative” at the 2010 Financial Sector Technology (FST) Awards.  The awards gala announcing the winners was held on Thursday evening, March 24, 2010 at the Lancaster London Hotel.

Markit’s Registry, recognised as the world's "meta-registry", lists the majority of leading environmental standards and provides customers with a unique portfolio approach to managing all their carbon, water and biodiversity assets in one place.  A robust, global registry is essential to providing transparency and credibility to the management of environmental assets.  The Registry became part of Markit when it was acquired in June of 2009 from the NZX Group Ltd.
