Markit BOAT uses proven exchange software developed by our technology partner, Cinnober. It runs using their standard TRADExpress engine. TRADExpress is a scalable, high performance, low latency platform for transaction processing. It is 100% Java based, ensuring flexibility and independence of hardware and database. Reporting clients connect using FIX 4.4 or via their front office ISV. 

The Markit BOAT application is hosted at London data centres of BT Radianz and COLT. Both organisations provide highly secure, fully resilient networks that protect the integrity of the data being transmitted. We recommend a standard implementation where reporting clients use both providers to ensure maximum resilience.

Markit BOAT operates a comprehensive and dedicated support service, with immediate, specialist response to alerts and calls. Quotes are published from 08:00 - 20:00 Central European Time/Central European Time Summer (CET/CETS) and trade reports from 08:15 - 18:15 CET/CETS.

The support desk is open from 08:00 - 20:00 CET/CETS on all weekdays except Christmas Day and New Years Day. Support is available outside these hours via Markit’s global support infrastructure.
