ABS Performance Data Analyst

The Structured Finance group covers different products such as the management of Indices (ABX, CMBX, ECMBS, Hybrix and TABX), the Reference Cashflow Database, US ABS Performance Data, a CMO/ABS Cashflow modeling service, a European ABS pricing service and the ABSReports structure.
This opening provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to establish themselves in the fast-growing CDS of ABS and CMBS market. We are looking for a motivated candidate to help with the development of Markit’s US ABS Performance Data. The service provides collateral and loan performance data for the U.S. Home Equity Market ABCDS market.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzing collateral and loan performance of asset-backed securities
• Learning about US ABS Performance Data, data processes and workflow management tool
• Staying abreast of the development of asset-backed securities and CDS of ABS and CMBS markets
• Acting as a client liaison for the data businesses in the US. This involves working with clients to understand their needs to help ensure we are delivering what they need today and in the future
• Understanding and assisting in the enhancement of all processes for gathering data and redistribution of data to client

Skills and Experience Required:

• The successful candidate must be able to combine:
• Proven analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills
• Ability to work well both independently and as a team member
• Interpersonal skills to interact professionally with business heads and senior traders on a daily basis
• Self motivation with a strong desire to increase knowledge of US Surveillance products, asset-backed securities, CDS, fixed-income products, and financial markets. Experience in this context will be viewed upon favorably particularly for the Analyst role
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of Excel/SQL/ACCESS would be preferable, but not essential. Note that the successful candidate will be expected to learn this
• Bachelors Degree is preferred
