Asian Dividend and Index Manager
The successful candidate will lead a Dividend Research and Index Analyst team who are responsible for the research, production and calculation of Equity indices and performing financial analysis on company fundamentals to provide content, news and client support for our dividend products. The position will be based in Singapore with an initial training given in London.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Oversee the following tasks:
- Research and calculate index compositions making adjustments for relevant corporate actions or events
- Perform financial analysis on company fundamentals to provide news and commentary on Asian equities and dividend forecasts
- Liaise with Asian companies to establish dividend policy and dividend payment schedules
- Understand and apply corporate action adjustments on stock and company level data
- Carry out QA checks on index and dividend data
- Respond to client queries and provided detailed analysis and feedback to their questions
- Ensuring that all the production processes are frequently reviewed to ensure that they are as efficient and practical as possible
- Ensuring that quality and production standards remain as high as possible
- Specifying, testing and implementing new system enhancements, working through the head of production
Skills and Experience:
- Graduate, preferably with a minimum of a 2:1 in a Finance related degree
- Strong IT skills, preferably VBA and SQL experience
- At least 5 years of managing people
- The candidate will occasionally be required to go out with sales team to visit customers and new prospects, therefore the ability to engage with customers and to understand the environment in which they work will be important
- Strong problem solving skills
- Flexibility and attitude to achieve tight deadlines
- The candidate will be required to take full responsibility for producing and further enhancing a service which is recognized as the global benchmark but which needs to be constantly enhanced to ensure that it continues to be unique, authoritative and ahead of any potential competition
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English and Chinese and ideally Korean or Japanese
- The candidate will also train, enhance and motivate the internal analysts to improve their product knowledge and provide a widely based skills set
- Strong team player who is comfortable working at all levels of the business
- The candidate must be able to work very closely with the other team managers within the equities production team and other parts of Markit
