Database Security Developer

Duties and Accountabilities:

The role is primarily focused on the implementation of a series of security enhancements on the Oracle database, commencing with implementing a user permissioning and audit framework for access to underlying data. The role will also include java and java code reviews – depending upon the candidates experience.

Skills and Experience:

Experience of developing with oracle 10i and above
Knowledge of oracles users and roles/permissions
Experience of hardening oracle databases a definite plus, some experience of oracle security features desirable
Knowledge of java is highly desirable
Knowledge of java security is highly desirable
Experience of security code reviews is highly desirable
Knowledge of full lifecycle processes
Ideally the candidate will have experience of test driven development
The candidate should have a good understanding of secure development methodologies such as OWASP and CLASP
Ideally, the candidate will have practical experience of these methodologies
Experience of svn or cvs will be beneficial
The ideal candidate will have some development experience, exceptions will be made for exceptional graduate level candidates
Strong academics preferred, ideally a good honours degree in a numerical discipline or equivalent
Consistent track record of delivery to excellent standards
Able to work competently on his/her own or within a team, taking a project through complete lifecycle
Be comfortable dealing with senior individuals with a strong client and service orientation
Must have a self-starting, driven, assertive and positive attitude
Ability to meet internal/external deadlines
Personable and able to demonstrate initiative
High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal required
Team player and willing to progress in a rapidly growing/changing environment
