Database Security Developer
Duties and Accountabilities:
The role is primarily focused on the implementation of a series of security enhancements on the Oracle database, commencing with implementing a user permissioning and audit framework for access to underlying data. The role will also include java and java code reviews – depending upon the candidates experience.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of developing with oracle 10i and above
- Knowledge of oracles users and roles/permissions
- Experience of hardening oracle databases a definite plus, some experience of oracle security features desirable
- Knowledge of java is highly desirable
- Knowledge of java security is highly desirable
- Experience of security code reviews is highly desirable
- Knowledge of full lifecycle processes
- Ideally the candidate will have experience of test driven development
- The candidate should have a good understanding of secure development methodologies such as OWASP and CLASP
- Ideally, the candidate will have practical experience of these methodologies
- Experience of svn or cvs will be beneficial
- The ideal candidate will have some development experience, exceptions will be made for exceptional graduate level candidates
- Strong academics preferred, ideally a good honours degree in a numerical discipline or equivalent
- Consistent track record of delivery to excellent standards
- Able to work competently on his/her own or within a team, taking a project through complete lifecycle
- Be comfortable dealing with senior individuals with a strong client and service orientation
- Must have a self-starting, driven, assertive and positive attitude
- Ability to meet internal/external deadlines
- Personable and able to demonstrate initiative
- High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal required
- Team player and willing to progress in a rapidly growing/changing environment
