Information Security Professional
The candidate will have broad range of IT and security experience, ideally both in industry and a large consultancy. Alternatively, the candidate will have worked within various security roles within the financial services / banking. A minimum of three years security experience is required for this role. A good communicator, able to persuade and influence the security agenda is a prerequisite for this role. The ideal candidate should have experience of security and audit standards such as ISO 27001, as well as actual practical hands-on experience such as Operational Security skills, project work and security monitoring.
You will report to the global Vice President of Information Security sitting in our London office. This role will involve undertaking security and compliance reviews, often setting the agenda and scope of the review. You will liaise with the business, explaining the best way to address findings. You will be involved in the elaboration of written policies, procedures and best practice guidance. Your role will involve assessing and working on projects such as refining the logging process and the monitoring of security patches and adherence to procedures. Recent hands-on experience is a must. This position is located in our White Plains, NY office.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have a selection of the following technical skills:
- CISSP
- Technical security skills and experience are a must. Security certifications (such as a GIAC) are a bonus
- Cisco / Microsoft / Linux qualifications
- Experience in detailed technical security reviews or technical audit
- Experience in working on projects
- Some programming and scripting languages
- Database security including Oracle or Sybase
- Experience of incident handling and/or penetration testing
- Good understanding of ISO 27000 series of standards
The successful candidate must be able to combine:
- Experience of working as a security consultant with hands-on operations experience, preferably within the finance sector and a large consultancy
- Consistent track record of delivery to excellent standards
- Strong academics preferred
- Self motivated with the ability to take a project through its complete lifecycle
- Be comfortable dealing with senior individuals with a strong client and service orientation
- Must have a self-starting, driven, assertive and positive attitude
- Ability to meet tight internal/external deadlines
- High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal are required
- Ability to manage themselves and work in an expanding team
- Team player and willing to progress in a rapidly growing/changing environment
