Team
You will be a part of the small team which is integrating data from various content providers into Markit Hub with a focus on integrating Markit’s own data. You will work together with highly experienced professionals, who value the success of the company and its entrepreneurial culture. The team uses an agile development process, which includes test-driven development, continuous integration, and a highly iterative release cycle.
The team carefully selects and extends its toolset in order to improve productivity. Tools which are currently in use include Java 6, IntelliJ IDEA, Spring, Groovy, Lucene, JUnit, JMock, Bamboo, JIRA and Confluence.
Duties and Accountabilities:
- Integrate financial content in the Markit Hub platform
- Improve the structure and process of the team development cycle
- Build high reliability components for a production platform
- Participate in the development of the Markit Hub platform
- Mentor junior developers
- Promote the platform inside the company
Skills and Experience:
- Solid technical background in designing and implementing object oriented systems
- Technical requirements gathering where knowledge of financial markets and affinity with numbers are considered a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on all levels (team, management and customers)
- Ability to work well in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities and requirements
- Quality driven attitude towards code and documentation
- Positive attitude towards agile development methods
- Fluency in English, spoken and written
Preferred skills
- Experience in designing complex enterprise applications with clustered and distributed architectures
- Awareness of available open source tools for Java development
- Experience with large data warehouse applications
