Credit Derivatives Product Manager
The Role
Markit provides a dynamic and challenging work environment in a high-growth company with world class products used by top tier financial clients. Our primary product is the Reference Entity Database (RED). RED is the market standard for reference entity and obligation data used in the trading of credit default swaps (CDS) and the evolving standard in the Loan CDS (LCDS) market. RED is of paramount importance to the integrity and efficiency of credit derivatives trade processing and is used by many top tier sell-side and buy-side financial institutions. Since launching in 2003, the service has nearly 300 customers globally, including banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, hedge funds, fund administrators and others.
We are currently seeking a Product Manager to join the Markit RED Product Management team in Europe.
As Markit RED continues to expand, we must constantly evaluate the dynamic client and market requirements in order to maintain our leadership position in the credit derivatives markets. To support this, Markit is looking to recruit a first-class Product Manager to take a lead in the development of the product.
The Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Be responsible for developing new RED services and functionality
- Assume global responsibility for the successful development and rollout of Markit RED LCDS
- Act as a primary liaison with clients across trading, operations, legal and documentation functions
- Assume and active role in business planning, budgeting and revenues for the region
- Have a direct role in RED related LevX and LCDX activities
- Work closely with the RED Operations team based in London
- Be a key point of contact for the Press and be heavily involved in sales and marketing activities
The Person
The successful candidate should have:
- Proven experience of working in an top-tier investment bank or broker-dealer in derivatives middle office, processing or business management
- Good credit markets knowledge, particularly in credit derivatives and/or loans
- Experience in the trade processing lifecycle, including affirmation and confirmation processes
- Involvement with DTCC trade processing and client on-boarding
- A strong market network at the dealers, key law firms and ISDA
- Experience in leading people, both directly or via influencing models
- A proven ability to establish and maintain exemplary client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience in business planning and financial management
- Knowledge of RED
The Position
This position is at the Director/ VP level and reports to the Global Head of Markit RED. It is located in Markit’s London office.
