Tokyo Office

The Tokyo office was established by Markit in 2005 to introduce Markit services to Japanese financial institutions including banks, government entities and insurance companies headquartered in Japan. 
 
Japanese financial institutions are quickly moving towards supporting international accounting standards for recognising P&L on their derivatives trading books ahead of widely anticipated changes to local accounting standards.

Markit's pricing services for OTC derivatives are allowing these institutions to meet the levels set by international bodies including the recently introduced FAS 157 standard from FASB in the United States governing "Fair Value Accounting." Markit has a regional tie-up with QUICK Global Information (a subsidiary of QUICK Corp.) surrounding the Markit Portal product.
