Markit Completes Acquisition of CDS IndexCo

London and New York – Markit Group Limited (“Markit”) announced today that it has completed its acquisition of CDS IndexCo LLC (“CDS IndexCo”), owner of the CDX credit derivative indices and the synthetic structured finance and loan indices ABX.HE, CMBX and LCDX.

Markit announced an agreement to acquire CDS IndexCo last week in addition to its acquisition of International Index Company (“IIC”), owner of the iTraxx Europe and iTraxx Asia credit derivative indices as well as the iBoxx bond indices.

Both index families will be known as Markit indices with immediate effect. As such, the indices are now called Markit ABX.HE, Markit CDX, Markit iBoxx, Markit iTraxx, Markit LCDX, etc.

Markit acquired CDS IndexCo from ABN AMRO, Bank of America, Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns, BNP Paribas, Citi, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Wachovia.
