Markit CER Success Rate Indices
The Markit CER Success Rate Indices measure how CER projects around the world are performing compared to the targets stated in their Project Design Document, the key document involved in the validation and registration Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects.
Product summary:

The Kyoto protocol’s main objective is the reduction of the emission of greenhouse gases. To meet this goal, three market mechanisms were created, one of which is the Clean Development Mechanism or CDM.

The CDM is based on projects in developing countries that reduce the amount of carbon dioxide or other climate change inducing substances. The reductions achieved by the projects can then be purchased by developed countries to offset their emissions in the form of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).

The Markit CER Success Rate Indices show the extent to which a particular project, region or type of project (sector) is successful and measures up to the expectations expressed in the relevant project documentation. The Success Rate is expressed as the ratio of realized CERs to the planned target amount of CERs.
