Markit Document Exchange (MDE) is an online platform for institutional investors and other financial institutions to exchange documentation efficiently in a secure environment. Participants upload their documents and agreements then grant explicit permission as required for their counterparties to access them.
MDE’s centralised online environment decreases the reliance on email and paper-based interaction. The platform stores over 90 document types that are organised into 18 categories. Audit functions allow firms to verify the source and destination of documents on the system.
